Hydrangeas In Late October

Hydrangeas look great these days, some real survivors, with huge flower heads whose colours are simply stunning, a creative combination of light pink and red with dark pink and red and their leaves with hundreds shades of green. And when you think they have kept going for so long!

Am cumpărat-o weekendul trecut, pur și simplu strălucea pe masa cu flori. Cum n-am știut eu ce cumpăr (m-am informat odată ajunsă acasă), nici vânzătoarea nu știa ce bijuterie are pe tarabă de mi-a dat-o doar cu 5 lei.„Etain” e un fel de regină a violelor și una dintre cele mai frumoase, galben -citron cu margini  de culoarea lavandei, parcă e pictată de mână. Iar mirosul e încântător și proaspăt, de primăvară. / ”Etain” is one of the most beautiful Violas I have ever seen, it looks like it has been hand-painted with a lavender edge.And the smell is fresh and charming, like spring. ”The name comes from Celtic mythology and means "shining one" . . . a goddess of such legendary beauty that she surpasses all others for beauty and gentleness.”

The Tuesday View: 18th October 2016

Apparently,  nothing has changed in my Tuesday view, the red rose still looks like a Christmas tree full of decorations, the Japanese Anemones are still in bloom, the huge Hydrangea is displaying the same great autumn reddish colour and the grass is still very green. But at a closer look, you can see the first signs of autumn, those beautiful pink tinges on the leaves that are growing bigger every day now.

Mici tristeți de toamnă în grădină

În orice grădină sunt și mici tristeți de toamnă. De exemplu, boboci care nu se vor mai deschide vreodată.

E mijloc de octombrie și de toamnă și în grădină iarba e proaspătă și verde, iar înfloritele sunt destule și frumoase: trandafiri de multe culori, tufănele, aster, anemone japoneze, salvie albastră, allysum, hortensii (superbe!), câteva margarete japoneze, vreo două fire îndrăznețe de lavandă și chiar și o dalie întârziată. Plus violele, calluna și sedumul, plantate în această lună ca să învioreze și mai mult grădina de toamnă. Se poartă tivurile roz și amestecurile de nuanțe care vor ieși în evidență încă vreo câteva zile, până când frunzele vor invada grădina cu alte zeci de culori./It is mid-October and mid- autumn and in the garden the grass is green and fresh and the blooms are incredibly numerous and beautiful: roses, Mums, Japanese anemones, Aster, blue Salvia, Allysum, Hydrangeas, a few African Daisies and Lavender and even a late Dahlia.
