The Tuesday View: 23rd August 2016

So far, I have taken the Tuesday view photo in the evening, but today I have been in the garden around 10 a.m. and I like the way colours are seen in the morning light. Not many changes, only the Honeysuckle that has more flowers than last week, the Hosta white flowers that are fading and the Peony leaves that are turning brown announcing that the next season is quite close.

Thanks to Cathy at Words and Herbs for hosting the Tuesday View and for the idea of posting a photo of the same view of the garden week by week.

In a Vase on Monday - The Other Way Around

I  usually arrange the bouquet and then I choose the most appropriate vase for it, but today it has been the other way around as I badly wanted to have that beautiful blue jug filled in with some beauties and keep it for a few days on my desk at home. Not easy at all, as that special shade of light blue does not match other colours easily, but finally some Phlox, Lavender, Weigella (in her second bloom!) and Snow on the Mountain, plus a very small Hydrangea flower, a Balloon flower, and a Petunia have turned to be the best options.

The Show Must Go On - Hydrangeas in Late Summer

The Hydrangeas show is going on, their colours are changing these days into beautiful pastel ones that give such a wonderful vintage touch to my small garden./ Spectacolul oferit de hortensii continuă, culorile li se schimbă în niște nuanțe care mai de care mai pastelate, diferite de la o tufă la alta, dând micii noastre grădini un minunat aer vintage.

The Tuesday View: 16th August 2016

Same view, another Tuesday. With a little bit more blue, thanks to some Salvia that is in bloom again and with  some white and yellow from a few beautiful honeysuckle flowers that have just opened. Hydrangea is at its place, showing a stunning mix of colours that I like more and more every day.

In a Vase on Monday - Sophisticated Simplicity

Ce dreptate avea Leonardo da Vinci - „Simplitatea este sofisticarea extremă.”/ I must confess that although it might look very simple and not at all elaborated, this Monday bouquet took me quite some time to give it the final touch.I knew that I wanted those lovely Coreopsis Tinctaris in today vase, but it has not been easy to find the right companions ( in the end, after trying several other options, I have chosen a few yellow daisies and three types of grass) that would let them show off  and make a proper bouquet at the same time. So right, Leonardo Da Vinci, ”simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” The glass jug is from my mum.

Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day - August 2016

There are not so many flowers at this time of the year as most of them went over in the heat. Roses are gone and so are the Obedient plants that filled the garden a month ago. A lot of green, still, and spots of colours here and there, as shown by the flowers whose time to bloom is around mid August. And, of course, the hydrangea shows that must go on.

The last ”Peace” rose is also the most beautiful that we have had this summer - these are the photos of the same bloom taken in the morning and in the evening
