In a Vase on Monday - a little bit of wood

Când nu avem noi timp să mergem în pădure, putem aduce un pic de pădure la noi./ It has been warm and sunny today, a real touch of spring that has made me think of childhood and of those happy times when we were wandering up the hills looking for wild blue Scillas. That is why my vase today has wonders from my little woodland corner that I have created in the garden and that I like so much: sweet little greenish -white bloomers with six petals and a great name Ornithogalum Balansae, the Star of Bethlehem,  a few blue Scilla Siberiana, snowdrops Vernum carpathicum and fresh leaves of Lesser Celandine that have just come out.

  4. Oh the Ornithogalum looks so lovely in this white jug with what I think you have called vernum - is this what we call leucojum or spring snowflake? Thanks for sharing

  5. This says spring to me. How beautifully you have photographed your special spring bulbs in a woodland setting. Best of all you can bring your little white jug indoors and continue to enjoy them.

  10. How lovely Anca! I love your sweet little vase of spring sunshine! It looks especially pretty photographed against the dark wood. I am still waiting for my Scillas to appear.

  13. Your vase is so pretty and hopeful today Anca. I'm amazed your the Star of Bethlehem are already flowering, I can't see any sign of mine, maybe they need a longer cold period than we've had so far.
