In a Vase on Monday - One of Those Mornings

November 23rd, around 11, warm and sunny, after a whole-night rain, and that kind of light that you can seldom see. It has been one of those mornings when you simply feel blessed for who you are and what you have. My ”feelingsful”vase is made of the last Lavender that I have picked today, Chrysanthemums in the colour of the year, those Nandina leaves that I love so much, two white roses, a strange butter -like coloured dried Hydrangea flower and a few ivy grapes. To show up that magic light I have mentioned before, I also took some photos of the same vase in a sunless setting. What a difference! What an autumn!

  4. I also love backlit Nandina leaves with their lovely glowing colors in my garden, Anca. They light up your sunny arrangement and go wonderfully with the burgundy mums. The white roses, grass plumes, and hydrangea flowers look lovely too. I like the garden wall for a backdrop, with traces of ivy on them. But I also like the shady arrangement, the Nandina leaves are darker so closer to the mums in color, and have a different beauty together.

  5. What a lovely arrangement, Anca! I love the nandina leaves and the purity of the white rose. The mum's color works well with the nandina, too. I would love to grow nandina, but I think we are one zone too cold, alas!
