In a Vase on Monday - saved by a tiny blue viola

Să vină primăvaraaa!/ I had a ”small spring” in the house recently bought and it has been quite tempting to use those lovely flowers for my today vase. However, as Mondays are about flowers from your garden, here I am with the very last resources I could find: lavanda, pinky calluna, a green branch of the dwarf cypress, some incredibly fresh leaves of snapdragon and the beautifully coloured remains of a decorative cabbage.Which would have not ended as a Monday bouquet unless I found a tiny sweet blue viola that survived the frost. Spring, where are you?

Și primăvara cumpărată, de care ziceam, tentația:/ And the spring recently bought, the temptation.

  1. The bought flowers are lovely Anca but I'm sure the satisfaction of finding some flowers and foliage in your own garden is still worth the effort. There's still a lot of snow on your table.

  2. What a lovely vase in the snow....but really any plant material can be a vase. I love all your indoor blooms that make nice vases too. I will be resorting to my indoor blooms soon for vases. For now it is dried plant materials. I doubt I will see spring much before March, but who knows!

  4. Oh it's a lovely collection of things from your garden Anca - the ornamental cabbage is a great spot of colour but the cheeky viola is the star!! Your bulbs look nice and bright too - did you start them off yourself, or did you buy them in bud?

    1. With all this snow and frost around, it has been quite a challenge to make the vase today, but if you like it, I am more than pleased. Thanks, Cathy!

  7. On dear, all that snow. But well done, you managed to find enough in the garden for a very pretty vase. I love your zinc containers with so many lovely bulbs.

  9. I also love to buy spring flowers to cheer up the window sills, but like me this week I am sure you are glad you managed to create an attractive vase of garden snippets. Well done Anca! Spring can't be far off now.

  10. I was impressed with the dainty blue violet and purple of the ornamental cabbage leaf, a pretty composition in the snow, Anca! There is not much yet at my house outside but evergreen leaves, but hope for the lovely blooms of spring soon, your bulbs look so enticing! They must smell wonderful.
